Rockdale’s TxDOT project one year in

Rockdale’s downtown TxDOT project started in April of 2021 so it has now been going on for almost a year. Numerous setbacks have plagued this project from the beginning and it has only gotten worse. So what’s been done in a year?

Vision Rockdale awarded $5,000 preservation grant

Vision Historic Preservation Foundation (Vision Rockdale) was awarded a $5,000 grant by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. These grant funds will contribute toward the cost of updating the Architectural Historic Structures Report for The 1895.

MCT presents ‘Jeeves at Sea’

“Jeeves at Sea,” directed by Sierra Higginbotham from Rockdale, is playing this weekend at the Milam Community Theater. The play is a classic British farce of mistaken identities and unrequited love set in 1929.

Career and Technical Education Month

Students and faculty at Rockdale ISD joined others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate national Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. This year’s theme was “Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow.
