MDD lunch and learn draws crowd on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Rockdale MDD hosted another economic development lunch and learn and the special guest was Mart y Ja ncza k , government affairs director for the Temple Area Builders Janczak Association.

Council gives go ahead to hemp farm, boutique

At Monday night’s city council meeting the council members unanimously voted to allow James Simonton’s 3G Farm to open a retail store in the building next to Banda’s that used to be a nail salon. Simonton grows hemp products and will sell THC edibles, oils, creams and even textiles in his boutique.

Library receives $2,500 grant for more youth graphic novels

The Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library is kicking off the new year by celebrating with a $2,500 grant from the Dorothy Louise Kyler Foundation to purchase graphic novel children’s books for youth kindergarten through 12th grade.

Master Gardener classes Feb. 2nd

The Little River Basin Master Gardeners of Milam County is offering Master Gardener Classes starting February 2 every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce. The fee for the class is $175 and the deadline for registration is January 20.

Rockdale Youth Baseball chili fundraiser Feb. 19 The Rockdale Youth Baseball Association will hold a chili fundraiser at The Ranch on Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. until sold out. There will be a corn hole tournament at noon with single elimination for $20 or $25 for a time buy back option.

Four arrested on felony warrants

The Rockdale Police Department made four felony arrests during the past week including: • Tomas Lunch, 34, Rockdale, was arrested Monday on a warrant for unauthorized use of motor vehicle and a warrant for theft of property ($2,500 to $30,000).
