We had a great time Sunday at a party for grandson Cameron Coopers’ girlfriend, Ashley Cary. She graduated from Texas A&M University and we enjoyed helping her celebrate her accomplishments. The party was held at the home of her grandparents in Wellborn and we thank them for inviting us.

Lots of things going on in our little town this summer, so be sure not to miss a thing. LIBERTY BRUNCH—Liberty Community Church will hold its fifth Sunday brunch on Sunday. Spokesperson Kathy Avery said that church will start at 9 a.m. and the meal will follow at 10.

American Legion plans crawfish, shrimp boil

American Legion Carlyle Post 358 is set to have a Crawfish and Shrimp Boil on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. until sold out. Meals are take-out or sit down at a table under the trees. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from American Legion members or by calling 512-446-2996 or 408-472-5272.
