Twelve sentenced in District Court

CAMERON—Twelve persons were sentenced last week in 20th District Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey who listed case dispositions as follows: • Seth Dean, 43, Luling, six-month state jail term after pleading “true” to a motion to revoke probation on theft of firearm.

Black History Series continues with author’s granddaughter

The Rockdale Reporter’s popular and well-received 42-year Black History Series did not die when revered author Susie Sansom-Piper died last October. Tamara Powell, Mrs. Piper’s great-granddaughter, has agreed to write a series for 2020.

Discipline topic for school board

The Rockdale ISD Board of trustees met for the first time this decade last Wednesday and heard Assistant Supt. Pam Kaufmann present a report on first semester discipline. Board members also discussed class rankings at RHS and approved the trustee election scheduled for May 2.
