The first five honorees in the Rockdale ISD’s new Distinguished Alumni Program will be inducted in a Friday ceremony at Rockdale High School, then introduced at halftime of the Rockdale-Lago Vista football game at Tiger Stadium. The ceremony, in the RHS Auditorium, is set for 6 p.m.

Forty-two students on a Milano ISD school bus escaped serious injury last Tuesday when it was struck by another vehicle. State Trooper Broderick Sims said the collision occurred at 3:40 p.m. Oct. 1 at the US 79-CR 338 intersection.
