Mr. Allen
THORNDALE—Billy Dean Allen, age 71, passed away at his home in Temple, Oklahoma, on Sept. 1, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Evangelical Christian Church, 3394 FM 486 in Thorndale.
He was born in Lubbock to Olen Odell (Bill) and Alice B. Ginn Allen on Dec. 2, 1953.
Before retirement, Billy worked as a professional truck driver and with the road and bridge departments in Milam and Williamson counties.
He was best known for being a short man with tall tales and funny jokes. If you ever spent more than a few minutes with him, you would have learned something new and had a good laugh with him about it.
He also loved to garden, tinker on any kind of motor, and go fishing.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and wife of almost 20 years, Judy White.
He is survived by his four sons, Casey Allen of Rockdale, Brandon Allen and wife Kindra of Rockdale, Billy Allen and wife Jennifer of Victoria, and Bradley Allen of Rockdale. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Collins of Temple, Oklahoma, Diann Stabeno and Husband Charles of Taylor; and brother Olen Ray Allen of Vermont; also, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a beloved dachshund, Pete.
