Jo Ann Caf fey, 78, died peacefully during her sleep Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. Gary Veit officiating. Ms. Caffey was born April 22, 1939, in Rockdale to Richard Develson and Margaret Emma (Hirt) Doss. She was a homemaker and later worked at HEB until retirement. Ms. Caffey was a league bowler for many years and enjoyed camp-outs. She was a past member of Faith Lutheran Church and belonged to many functions concerning the church. She was baptized at an early age and later confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale by Rev. F.T. Sager. Ms. Caffey spent the past four years residing at Austin Retirement & Nursing Center in Austin. She was preceded in death by her son, Alan Caffey; herparents, Richard and Margaret Doss; a brother, Larry Wayne Doss; and a sister-in-law, Anna Elizabeth Doss. Survivors are a son, Robert D. Caffey, and a brother, Leslie “Les” Doss and wife Therese of Austin; also, four grandchildren.
