Josie Lee Boswell, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Nov. 1, 2025, at the age of 90.

She was born on July 18, 1935, in Rockdale to Dorothy and Fritz Bauer.

On Nov. 23, 1956, Josie married the love of her life, Thomas at the First Christian Church in Taylor. They enjoyed 65 wonderful years together and built a home filled with love, faith and family.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Aliene York; and her husband, Thomas Boswell.

Josie worked for many years at Alcoa in Rockdale and was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Rockdale.

She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in her yard and tending to flowers. Her greatest joy came from being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Josie will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, and her quiet strength.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Barry Boswell and wife Sherri of Ovilla; her daughter, Dottie San Martin and husband Joey of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Brian and Blake Boswell, Christopher and Christen Scogin; nine great grandchildren, Braeden, Emma, June, Elsie, Bear and Jett Boswell, Victoria Brooke, Trenton and Preston Scogin.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale with Gunar Gerthe officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
