Graveside services for Mary Frances Brown, 96, of Belton will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at the Sharp Cemetery near Rockdale with Bob Livington officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
Mrs. Brown died Monday, Jan. 16, at her home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Rockdale, the daughter of Charlie and Mary (Dixon) Duncan.
She was a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she received her undergraduate.
Mrs. Brown later received her Master’s Degree from Baylor University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She married W.E. Bill Brown on July 25, 1948, in Rockdale.
Mrs. Brown was a full-time teacher for 27 years and a substitute for another 28 years.
She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Belton, where she was a member of Women of the Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and a son, Steven Lane Brown in 2003.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Brown and his wife Denise, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
