Teresa Caywood passed away peacefully in her home on May 9, 2025.
Services ares cheduled for Frid ay, May 16, at Phillips & Lucke y Funeral Home in Rockdale.
A vi sitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Minerva Cemetery with Mike Zapata officiating.
Teresa was born Nov. 30, 1933, in Milano. She was the fourth oldest of nine born to Sidronio Silva and Pauline (Moreno) Silva.
She attended school in Milano through the 10th grade. She enjoyed school but talked about having to work the cotton fields in West Texas to help her family. God and family were always her first two priorities in life.
On Nov. 30, 1982, Teresa was united in marriage to Brent Caywood. Brent, family members and many others talked about her great cooking and baking. She was really known for her tamales and homemade hot sauce.
Teresa loved to entertain family and friends in her home, especially at Christmas. The beautiful decorations and delicious food were truly a reflection of her life.
Teresa attended Caldwell Assembly of God Church for many years. She looked forward to church, always dressed in her best suits and matching accessories. Her favorite part of church was praise and worship. She believed that a key to strength was a grateful heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brent Caywood; her parents, Sidronio and Pauline Silva; two brothers and sisters- in-law, Paul (Helen) Silva, Zeke (Carmen) Silva; brother Sid Silva; sister Rachel (Domingo) Aguilar; brother-in-law Aaron Davila; sister-in-law Donna Silva; father and mother-in-law Hubert (Wanda) Caywood; and son-in-law Eddie Oliver. Teresa is survived by her two daughters, Maria Gomez and Rosanna Oliver of Rockdale; her two sons, Afonso Gomez of El Paso and James Gomez of Rockdale; two grandchildren, Edward Oliver of Canon City, Colorado, Nikki and husband Travis Mosty of Rockdale; two great-grandchildren, Edie and Easton Mosty; brothers Ruben (Angie) Silva of Milano, Robert (Enilda) Silva of Houston, Frank Silva of Crown Point, Indiana; sister Alice Davila of Katy; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Edward Oliver, Travis Mosty, Fred Silva, Joseph Silva, Luis Aguilar and Larry Bartlett.
