Ms. Curtis

AUSTIN—Sally Grace Curtis, 72, of Wimberley passed away on Friday, Feb. 2 8 , 202 5 , after a fierce bat t le with ovarian cancer.

Sally was born April 16, 1952, in Austin to Milton and Grace Cooley Curtis.

She requested no memorial service; she wanted people to gather with loved ones to remember her and to make new memories together.

Sally graduated from Rockdale High School in 1970. She then graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in 1975 and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. She was vice president of finance and HR at Max-Serv in Austin (later bought by Sears) for eight years until she purchased a small business in 1999.

She owned Ra ncho Deluxe on the Wimberley Square until 2012, buying and selling furniture, lighting, books and jewelry to and from local artisans.

Sally then worked for McGinnis & Berger as a senior tax advisor until retirement.

Sally was smart, beautiful, and most of all, kind. She loved kitties and helped every stray (human or animal) she encountered. She lived in the country and fed the deer, raccoons, foxes, frogs and birds in multitudes.

Her favorite destination was the beach on Port Aransas, where she planned yearly gatherings with her family to swim, get sunburned, eat shrimp enchiladas, kolaches, pies, drink wine and have fun!

She was so fun—singing along with her favorite album, playing air saxophone, or just jammin’! Everything was more fun if Sally was there!

She is survived by nephews John Richard Clark and son Tommy Clark; Jay Curtis and wife Karla, children Sabrina and Wesley; Parker Curtis and partner Nikki; nieces Caitlin Curtis, Maren Curtis, Carey Curtis and son Noah; Kierstin Curtis and husband Brandon Abrahamson; brothers Patrick and Christie Curtis of Monroe, Louisiana, Timothy Curtis and partner Kelly of Austin; sister Susan Curtis Clark Tuttle of Ponder; sisters of the heart includinge Vicki West Meehan, Virginia Fischer, Debbie Ament and Cathey Curtis; as well as by beloved rescue dog Storm.

Memorials may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or to your local animal shelter or wildlife preserve.
