Jesus DeLeon, 83, of Rockdale died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Mass was held Wednesday, May 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock-dale with Rev. Pedro Castillo and Deacon Gus Coelho officiating. Burial was at Salty Cemetery near Thorn-dale.

Rosary was recited Tuesday, May 21, during visitation at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. DeLeon was born Feb. 7, 1936, in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico, to Esteban and Germana (Covarrubias) DeLeon.

On June 18, 1960, he married Dora Lidia Moreno-Salazar were in Nava, Mexico.

Mr. DeLeon worked in construction and in his early years was a ranch hand foreman.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale.

Mr. DeLeon was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Teofila DeLeon, and baby brother, Alfredo DeLeon; a sister, Virginia Martinez DeLeon; and a son-in-law, Dennis Bland.

Survivors are his wife, Dora Lidia DeLeon of Rock-dale; his daughters, Dora Ellia Casas, Irma DeLeon Moreno and husband John, all of Rockdale, Martha DeLeon Balli and husband Eliazar of San Antonio, Leticia DeLeon-Kuehn and husband Roger of Rosehill, Kansas, Cynthia DeLeon Ybarra and husband Andre of Hutto; his sons, Humberto DeLeon, Juan Miguel DeLeon and Jesus DeLeon Jr. and wife Shannon, all of Rockdale; his brothers, Jose DeLeon and wife Norma, Mateo DeLeon and wife Juanita, all of San Antonio, Esteban DeLeon of Chicago, Illinois, Alfredo DeLeon of Morelos, Mexico; a sister, Guadalupe Galindo and husband Isidro of Morelos, Mexico.

Also, his grandchildren, Pedro, Jessie and Rita Casas, Marisa Moreno, Janie and Christia Balli, Anna, Antonio, Humberto Jr., Francisca, Berndette, Katrina, John and Marcus DeLeon, Elizabeth Jasso, Linda Randall, Shannon, Zachary, Wesley, and Mia Kuehn, David, and Ariana Ybarra; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Humberto DeLeon, Juan DeLeon, Jesus DeLeon Jr., Antonio DeLeon, Humberto DeLeon Jr. and Jessie Casas.

Honorary pallbearers were Pedro Casas, John DeLeon, Marcus DeLeon, Christopher Casas, Zachary Kuehn, Wesley Kuehn, and David Ybarra.
