Dolores Faye Barber (Kindred), age 87, of Rockdale passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025.

Dolores, also known as Dodie, Doe-Doe and Ninnie, was born on Dec. 26, 1937, in Reagan (Falls County) to Willliam Eddie and Florene Pringle Kindred.

Dolores grew up in Reagan and went to Marlin schools.

She loved dancing and met Harold Wesley Barber of Bremond at the Bremond Tavern. They married three months later on Sept. 29, 1956. Together they had three children, Linda Michele, Lori Kaye and Clayton Eddie.

She lived her life as a homemaker and mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always there for school events and loved every minute of it.

Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite time of year.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wesley Barber on Feb. 16, 2021; her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Tome and Frances Barber; a daughterin- law, Joann Barber; and two brothers, Bernard and Charles Kindred.

She is survived by her children, Linda and Jamie, Lorie and Clay, all of Rockdale; grandchildren Aaron and Rachael Barber of Elgin, Jason and Karen Black of Pflugerville, Drew Krenek of Rockdale, Asilinn Barber Lawson, and Kaylinn Shea Tucker of Hutto; great-grandchildren Mikkayla Barber of Bastrop, Madilyn and Braden Barber and Clayton Conkle, all of Elgin.

She is also survived by her sister, Peggie McMahon of College Station and Jerry and Nancy Kindred of Koss; sister-in-law Mary Hancock of Rockdale; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Gina Cavazos for her love and attention to Mom in her final days.

Also, thanks to Compassus Hospice nurses, aides and spiritual guidance.

A celebration of life will be held Jan. 3, 2026, at Hunters Chase from 2 to 5 p.m.

Dolores’s ashes will be buried at Mustang Cemetery in the near future.
