Albert O’Neal Gilbert, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Round Rock.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Phi llips & Lucke y F u ne r al Home in Rockdale.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the funeral home.

He was born July 7, 1938, in Hearne to John Wesley Gilbert and Nettie (Middleton) Gilbert.

He was married to Wanda Jean (Favors) Gilbert on Sept. 1, 1967, in Cameron. They were married for 57 years.

Albert worked for Phillips & Luckey for 20 years and worked for Pounders Wrecker Service for six years.

He loved the outdoors, working in the yard, mowing the grass and feeding his animals.

He enjoyed camping and fishing.

He meets no stranger and would stop and talk to everyone.

He loved his family, especially his wife, son and two grandkids.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest daughter, Mary Louise Gilbert; siblings Artie Hollman, Adell Cook, Bo Gilbert and Hawk Gilbert.

Albert is survived by his wife, Wanda Jean (Favors) Gilbert; children Annette Gilbert, Amanda Gilbert Stowe and husband Brian, Albert E. Gilbert and wife Cynthia; grandchildren Adrian Morales Jr., Johnny Morales, Jeanette Tate and husband Corlon, Chasity Lopez, Salena Lopez, Deborah Lopez, Rebbeca Morales, Roman Morales and wife Kristian, Carson Morales, Savannah Shugart, Ethan Shugart and Miranda Carpenter; great-grandchildren Angel, Yvonne, Kae William, Darrell, Danny, Doug, Joseph, Eaijah, Luke, Gracelyn, Kaden, GraceAnn, Jeremiah, Anjelhica and Troy.
