Tommy Paul Grimes, 65, of Rockdale died Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

Mass was held Tuesday, April 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Pedro Castillo of St. Joseph and Father Edwin Kagoo of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West officiating. Burial was in Our Lady of The Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown with Father Will Stratton of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Georgetown officiating.

Visitation with a Rosary was Monday, April 23, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Grimes was born May 5, 1952, in Groves to Roy and Yvonne (Davit) Grimes.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, Class of 1974.

Mr. Grimes became a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

On July 20, 1974, he married Patricia Dee Faller in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Lake Jackson. They came to Rockdale in 1999 where he opened his own business, Tommy Grimes CPA.

While in Rockdale, Mr. Grimes was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 7014 and served as financial secretary and member of the Lions Club. He also served as chairman of the Milam County Democratic Party and was on the board of the Love & Learning Center of Milam County as the head board chairman over financial accounts.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia Grimes of Rockdale; a son, Timothy Grimes and wife Claudia of Georgetown; a daughter, Margaret Erlandson and husband Leonard of Plano; two sisters, Rebecca Demeter and husband Joe of Port Neches, Lynda Porter and husband Johnny of Nederland; four grandchildren, Bela and Lili Grimes, Teklo and Felix Erlandson; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Faller of San Antonio.

Serving as pallbearers were Timothy Grimes, Leonard Erlandson, Chris Demeter, Justin Porter and Johnny Porter.
