Dorris Spence Henry, 92, of Rockdale died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Rockdale Christian Church wi th Pastor Harr y Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in the Forest Grove community. Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Mrs. Henry was born Jan. 19, 1926, in the Forest Grove community to Roy T. and Carmen M. (Griffis) Spence. She married Milford Barton Henry on June 2, 1946, in Rockdale. Mrs. Henry, along with her husband, were founders and charter members of Rockdale Christian Church. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling and was a QVC addict. She was a member of the Crown Garden Club and Richards Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Henry was well known for her chicken and dumplings, sugar cookies, hummingbird and brown mountain cakes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Barton Henry; a son, Barton Dale Henry; a son-in-law, John McMillan; her parents, Roy T. and Carmen M. Spence; and a sister, Ella Joyce (Spence) Stutts. Survivors are a daughter, Darla Sue Nelson and husband Thomas of Rockdale; her grandchildren, Heather Paschal and husband Brad, Carla Henry, Bettina Brondo and husband Joe, Monica Garner and husband Keith, Laura McMillan, Dorris Hill and husband Eddie, Hannah Skala and husband Kyle, Kim Thompson and husband Arnie, Trisha Jones and husband Robbie, Missy Christman and husband Barry; her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jonathan, Caitlynne, Aleyna, Ben, Erin, Jonah, Brian, Josh, Emily, Trey, Madison, Emma, Brooklyn, Lane, Lily Red, Cade, Lily B, Jac, Austin, Tyler, and Dillon; a great-great-granddaughter, Addison; a sister-in-law, Laverne Dillard of San Diego, California; her nephews, Alan Stutts, Vaun Henry, David Wilson and Donny Wilson; a niece, Miranda McAdams; and a special longtime friend, Jean Haupt. Pallbearers will be John Collier, John Blanchard, Thomas Nelson, Rod Spence, Claude Spence, and Steve Grandstaff. Honorary pallbearers will be Theo Telg, Larry McAdams, and Alan Stutts.
