MILANO—Michael (Mike) Fontaine Jones, 44, of Gatesville, formerly of Milano, went home to be with Jesus on May 3, 2020, after battling a long illness.

Memorial services will be held at Liberty Community Church near Milano at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27.

Mr. Jones was born Sept. 13, 1975.

After graduating from Milano High School, he worked odd jobs until he found the one job he was meant for: working as an EMT for Scott & White EMS.

He also served as a volunteer firefighter and Fire Chief for Nolanville and surrounding counties.

Mr. Jones’ life was cut short by his illness. They say the good die young and so did he. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Jones was preceded

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jones; his paternal grandparents, George and Florp ence Jones; and his maternal grandparents, Odie and Irene Mills. Survivors are his mother,

Survivors are his mother, LaNell Mills of Gatesville; a brother, Clay Jones and wife Michele and their children, Ashley, Alyssa, Russell Clay Jr. and Sarah, all of Temple; also, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
