Rette Evone Lawrence (Moore), 92, passed away peacefully on Dec. 10, 2025, in Leander. Bo r n o n Aug. 19, 1933, in Thorndale, Ret te lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family and love. Rette was a devoted Christian who cherished her Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life. She found spiritual nourishment and community at Rockdale Christian Fellowship Church in Rockdale, where she worshiped faithfully and took solace in knowing the Lord was always watching over her.

Rette was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Allie Moore; her beloved husband, Garlon Lawrence; two of her children, Glenda and Phillip Cochran; her grandson, Tyler Cochran; her sister, Earlene Youngblood; and her brother, Stanley Moore.

Rette’s legacy lives on through the large and loving family she nurtured. She is survived by her brother, Aulston Moore; her children, Paul Cochran of Austin, Billy Bob Cochran of Bremond, Michael Cochran of Colorado, Debby Rowe of Leander, Patricia and husband Tommy Coldiron of Milano, Karen and husband Joey Orban of Leander, Sharon Cepak and friend Gary Floyd of Leander, and her bonus son Allen Butcher.

She was affectionately known as “Memaw” to her 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A beloved mother of seven children and a cherished grandmother across five generations, Rette’s warmth touched countless lives. Her home was a place of comfort for many, a space filled with love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family bonds.

She w i l l be de eply missed by all who knew her. May Rette’s memory bring comfort to those who loved her and may her faith-filled life continue to inspire generations to come.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Crossroads Bible Church, 811 Burleson St. in Rockdale.
