Mr. Matherne Ewell P. Materne, 87, of Rockdale died at 12:44 a.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023, in Lutcher, Louisiana.
In termen t of his ashes was at Forest Grove Christian Church on July 5.
Mr. Math erne was born March 17 1936, in New Orleans, LA, to Floyd Ewell Matherne and Lurline Shexnayder Matherne.
He married Judy Jarmon Matherne in May 1960 in Longview.
Mr. Matherne was a lab manager at MEMC in Baytown at retirement and had also been a lab technician at Ethyl Corp. in Baton Rouge, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Jarmon Matherne, on May 3, 2013; and siblings Marvin Matherne, Ron Matherne, Wayne Matherne and Pie Matherne Mitchell.
Survivors are his children, Sharon Matherne Odom of Baton Rouge, LA, Michael Wayne Matherne (Stephanie) of Spanaway, Washington, Christopher Mark Matherne (Jan) of Mansfield and Karen Matherne Janes (children); and a brother, Gerard “Gerry” Matherne (wife Elaine) of Denham Springs, LA; also, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
