Lois Ray Mitchell was born Nov. 24, 1949, to Curt Mitchell Sr. and Dorothy Hill Mitchell in Taylor. Lois Ray was the youngest son of 14 children (three girls and 11 boys), whom all have preceded him in death.

Lois Ray was married to Laura Mitchell for many years and the two were blessed with seven wonderful children. His friendly demeanor and whimsical humor endowed him with many friends.

Lois Ray was an extremely skillful and industrious worker. He was a long-time employee of H.B. Zachary Co. in San Antonio, as a heavy equipment operator and head of mechanic. Adept at many trades, Lois Ray was a truck driver for B&B Oilfield Services, worked at Rockdale Sandow & Southern Railroad Co., in addition to other jobs where his labor proficiency proved desirable.

As a father and grandfather, Lois Ray loved his family and was exceptionally proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois Ray extended family of nieces and nephews were equally adored by him.

Our beloved Lois Ray was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Wanda; his dear son, Charles and wife Laura.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Curt Sr. and Dorothy Mitchell; sisters Freddie Jean Jones, Doris Faye Williams and Daisy Mitchell; and brothers Alvin Mitchell, Curt Mitchell Jr., Marvin Mitchell, Robert Mitchell Sr., Milton Mitchell, Willie Mitchell, Lonny Morris Mitchell, David Mitchell, Melvin Mitchell and Calvin Mitchell Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sons Terry (Ora) of Georgetown, Darren (Monica) of Hutto, Julius (Anita) of Kyle, Gregory (TaSheena) of Pflugerville, and Wendell (Sharee) of Rockdale.

Imprints of Lois Ray are left upon the hearts of his grandchildren as they honor his memory: Tevin, Visha, Dajia (Kenneth Jr.), Keiondra, Velma, Wendell, Drew, Te’Audra, Rece, Trey, Jaxon, Genesis, Georgia, Tristan, Myles; and great-grandchildren: King, Kenneth III, Keelan, Kai, Justin Jr., Juelz and Kiloh.
