Walter ( Walt) Raymond Ross Sr., 78, of Rockdale, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, after an extended battle with heart disease.
Walt worked many years as project manager for several different companies throughout his career, including a year as project manager in Africa.
Walt was multi-talented and was admired for his many building talents and his ability to repair most anything.
He was born in New London, Connecticut on Dec. 6, 1946.
Walt was a member of First Baptist Church in La Grange since November 2010. He was the head user for 13 years, as well as a safety team member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Ross and Katheryn Ross of Pennsylvania; a son, Walter Raymond (Ray) Ross Jr.; a grandson, Laine Alan Ross; and a brother, Homer Ross.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Kay Landrum Ross of Rockdale; a daughter, Angela Ross of Vermont; sons William Ross of Indiana and Kenneth Ross of Vermont; mother-in-law, Millie Caywood (Ronnie) of Rockdale; sister-in-law Kim Filla (Joey) of La Grange; a niece, Madison Maupin (Cullen) and great-nephew Cam of Weimer; and nephew Brodie Filla of La Grange; also,13 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
