A funeral service for Jerry Glen Myers Sr. of Milano will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be at Goodwill Cemetery in Milano.
Mr. Myers was born to Bobby Ray Myers Sr. and Eddie Mae Maloy Myers in Rockdale on Oct. 21, 1962. He graduated from Milano
He graduated from Milano High School in May 1981.
He married Regina L. Dunn and they had two children.
Mr. Myers accepted Christ at an early age at Goodwill Baptist Church in Milano.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Myers Sr.; his mother, Eddie Mae Maloy Myers; a brother, Bobby Ray Myers Jr.; a sister, Sarah Ann Myers-Worrell; his maternal grandparents, Eddie Maloy and Minnie Mack-Maloy; and his paternal grandparents, Eugene Myers and Alder Clay Myers.
Mr. Myers worked for GATX in Hearne for 14 years. Prior to working for GATX, he worked for the city of Bryan waste management, for over 10 years as a U.S. Federal Task Force Officer, and for various oil companies in the area. He was also a cattle farmer and a true “cowboy” at heart.
He loved his horses, participating in rodeos and trail rides. He loved spending time on the farm. He was always busy and loved his family and friends.
Survivors are a daughter, Kendra L. Myers of Hutto; a son, Jerry Glen Myers Jr. of Rockdale; four grandchildren, Darin Summer, Doryon Peacock Jr., Jazmin Vasser and Shelby Myers; two brothers, Larry (Kathleen) Myers and Kenneth Earl Myers of Milano; and two sisters, Virginia (Roland) Williams and Vickie (James) Griffin of Temple; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
