HOUSTON—Coliver “Collie” Hoge Parker, 89, of Houston, died on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, after a short battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 14301 Stuebner Airline Road in Houston, at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.

Mrs. Parker was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Schenectady, New York, to Robert and Marjorie (Meader) Hoge.

She married E. Brooks Parker on Feb. 14, 1952, in Missouri.

Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Colorado College and lived in three different countries with her husband during his 40 years with Alcoa.

For several years, Mrs. Parker was the head librarian at Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial library in Rock-dale/ which fit in nicel| with her love of books.

She was also the owner operator of the Rowell House Bed & Breakfast in Jefferson for several years after “retiring.”

She enjoyed ballet, opera and all things musical and loved to share that enthusiastically with everyone she met. Her other love was traveling all over the world, from Alaska to Antarctica, Hawaii to Helsinki and everywhere in between.

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Reynon Hoge; and by her husband of 62 years, E. Brooks Parker Jr. on Dec. 30, 2014.

Survivors are a sister, Margo Gathers and spouse Paul of Placitas, New Mexico; a daughter, Kate Wheeless and spouse Bill of Spring; and two sons, Jeff Parker and spouse Vicki of Red Oak, Davis Parker and spouse Q uintene of Houston; also, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
