Guadalupe Montoya Perez, 92, of Houston died Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the funeral home with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m.
Ms. Perez was born Oct. 21, 1925, to Miguel and Conception Montoya in Milam County, near Rockdale.
She worked for years as a cook and waitress at the Alcoa Café and in her later years became a home health provider.
Ms. Perez enjoyed gardening and never lost that ranching/ farming drive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Conception (Vela) Montoya; a brother, Oscar Montoya; and two sisters, Leanor Martinez and Aurora Montoya (her twin).
Survivors are a son, Daniel Reyez of San Diego, California; a daughter, Delia Garza of Houston; her grandchildren, Danny, Jason, Joey, Heather and Dillonger; a brother, Mike Montoya and wife Carmen of Rockdale; and a sister, Aurora M. Cruz and husband Ted of San Antonio; also, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Jason Callis, Joey Callis and Dillonger Hackett, great-grandson Jacob Monciavis, nephews Alex Hernandez, Louis Aguilar and Oscar Montoya Jr., and great-nephew Anthony Montoya.
