Funeral services for Maximino “Maxi” Perez Sr., 71 of Rockdale were held Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Robert Lopez officiating. Burial was at Perez Family Cemetery near Rockdale.

A prayer service with visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home with Pastor Roman Cerrantes officiating.

Mr. Perez died at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

He was born in Conca Arroyo Seco, Queretaro, Mexico, on June 15, 1948, to Jose Perez Rubio and Gabriella Guevara Vasquez.

On April 20, 1972, he married Maria DeJesus Martinez in Mexico and again on Jan. 2, 1985, in Cameron.

Mr. Perez was a heavy machinery service technician with Mine Services in Rockdale for 14 years, retiring in 2008. He was also a licensed minister since April 1, 2015 with Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith.

Mr. Perez was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Saturnino Perez.

Survivors are his wife, Maria Perez of Rockdale; his daughters, Alicia Perez Luna of Mexico, Yolanda Perez Lara and husband Ray of Rogers, Pieda Perez Flores and husband Raul of Rockdale, Rachel Perez Lopez and husband Gabriel of Tyler; his sons, Maximino Perez Jr. and wife Nancy, Jose Perez and wife Kristi, all of Milano, Ruben Perez and wife Carmen, Rene Perez and Lori Powell, Moses Perez and Erica Remaley, all of Rockdale; four brothers, Celso Perez, Richardo Perez, Hipolito Perez and Juan Perez; and two sisters, Dominga Perez and Delfina Perez; also, 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Maximino Perez Jr., Ruben Perez, Rene Perez, Jose Perez, Moses Perez, Abraham Perez, Aaron Lara and Raul Flores.
