Ida Vay Shockley Ponzer, 94, of Rolla, Missouri, died Feb. 6, 2018.
She was born in a tent on Dec. 17, 1923, near Vay, Idaho, the seventh child of 10. She lived most of her life in Minnesota and retired in Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, a son, five sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Henry L. Ponzer of Rolla; a son, two daughters, eight grandchildren, including Sue Brown of Rockdale; and four great-grandchildren, including Kayla Wieczorek of Rockdale.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Everywhere she lived she left a garden and she loved to dance.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church in Rolla.
