Mr. Rawlins
LEXINGTON—Jessie Dellon Rawlins was born on Oct. 23, 1938, in Rogers and passed away on Dec. 9, 2025, at the age of 87 years.
Se r v i c es wer e at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Lexington Faith Temple Church, 1005 County Road 317 in Lexington with Pastor Jim Moore officiating. Burial took place at Lawrence Chapel Cemetery in Thrall.
He is survived by children Dee Anna and Cliff Pittman, Joel and Stacy Rawlins, Jennifer and Cecil Sanchez; grandchildren Jordan and Amber Pittman, Caleb and Lacey Pittman, Cody and Beth Pittman, Hannah Rawlins, Shawn and Haylee Pittman, Jason Rawlins, Robert and Hannah Pittman, Phillip Muth and Jillian Elizabeth Muth; great-grandchildren Harper, Bobbie, Hope, Ayden, Kaiden, Gracelynn, Parker, Asher, Shelby, Logan, Mia, Leo, Wyatt and Claire; brother and sister-in-law Coley and Pam Rawlins; and sister and brother- in-law Joan and Clarence Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Sanders Rawlins.
Dellon was a loving father and a wonder ful Papa to all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a friend to all and loved others well. This also showed in his love of 83 foster children that he and Barbara cared for in their home over the years.
He grew up in the Rogers and Victoria areas and graduated from Victoria High School in 1957.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in July 1959 and served until July 1963.
He was stationed in Alaska before he married Barbara Rawlins on Jan. 28, 1961.
Following their wedding, he served in Oregon where he and Barbara resided for two years before moving back to Texas.
He then worked for Alcoa for many years.
Dellon always had a strong faith in Jesus and served God in various areas. He was a member of Lexington Faith Temple and he served there in many capacities including teaching Sunday school. Dellon taught discipleship classes at the Giddings State School and he and Barbara also hosted many Christmas parties there.
He also ministered at Taylor Church of God and Elgin Church of God for several years.
Dellon always enjoyed playing his guitar at nursing homes, church and various events.
His infectious smile, wonderful sense of humor, as well has his love for Jesus and others will be greatly missed.
