Ruth “Toots” Tiemann, 86 of Thorndale, went to be with her Lord on March 2, 2025.
She was born Feb. 19, 1939, to Arthur H. Ebner a nd Mollie Mae (Seale) Ebner in Thorndale.
She was baptized and confi rmed her faith in the Lord.
She ma r r ied L eroy Edward Tiemann on Dec. 16, 1955. They were blessed with two daughters, Jenny and Jana.
Toots was a homemaker and worked at Butts Dry Goods in Thorndale.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Thorndale and later in life, she became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale.
She was an active member of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Toots and Leroy enjoyed cooking and competing in the Thorndale Chili Cookoff in the 1970s and 1980s, where they won first place several times.
She loved doing yard
Her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking care of them and keeping up with their activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; parents Arthur and Mollie Mae; sister Martha Lee Richter and brother-in-law Edwin Richter; brother Arno H. Ebner; and sister Leona Mae and brother Quintus, who both passed away in childhood.
Surviving are her daughters, Jenny Northcott and husband Gary of Thorndale, Jana Waiser and husband Douglas of Thorndale; grandchildren Marcus Shelton and wife Traci of Belton, Nicholas Shelton of Thorndale, Candace Kuhl and husband Kelly of Taylor, Chris Northcott and wife Paula of Hubert, North Carolina, and Christa Waiser of Los Angeles, California; great-grandchildren Shane Northcott of Hubert North Carolina, Barrett, Tatum, and Everett Shelton, Kaden and Caroline Kuhl; sister-in-law Peggy Ebner of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale on Friday, March 7, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Detmold Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marcus Shelton, Nicholas Shelton, Kelly Kuhl, Floydy Zuehlke, Stephen Niemtschk, and Mike Glenn.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church General Fund or Build the Vision Fund, Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department, or a charity of your choice.
