Rare golfing feat
Richard Towns of Rock-dale accomplished a rare golfing feat at the Rock-dale Country Club on Sunday, Oct. 28. The 67 year-old Towns shot a five under par 67. His personal best is a 65, which he shot in 1997.
Walter Morgan holds the youngest-age-shooter record on the professional tour. In 2002, at age 61, Morgan shot a 60 in the AT&T Canada Senior Open Championship, according to the Golf Digest record book.
King sets records
Howard Payne University Yellow Jacket and former Milano High School punter, Kyle King leads the American Southwest Conference in punting with 32 punts for 1,336 yards for the season.
King, who is majoring in kinesiology at HPU, is the son of Alvie and Wendy King of Milano.
The MHS football team made the 2017 regional semi-finals. King was also a part of the 2018 2A boys state championship team in track and field. King was a three-time all-state punter and earned state football and academic honors.
