Tigers fall to Troy 57-56 OT battle

The Tiger’s boys basketball team got their third District 19-3A loss at the hands of Troy freshman sensation Tyler Jarolik in an emotion-packed 57-56 overtime loss. RHS is 0-3 in district and 10-10 overall.

Lady Eagles beat Bartlett 44-38

In a non-district game during Christmas break, the Milano Lady Eagles edged former District 25-2A foe Bartlett 44-38. MHS led 11-5 after the opening quarter, but the Lassies closed in on Milano, narrowing their lead to 21-19 at halftime.

Fall sports banquet set for Monday

The Rockdale Tiger Athletic Booster Club is hosting the Fall Sport Athletic Banquet to honor participants in football, volleyball, cross country, and athletic training on Monday 6 p.m. at the K.C. Hall.

Bulldogs wear out Granger, 84-41

Lady Bulldogs beat Granger by 39 points

The Thorndale Lady Bulldogs began 2019 with a 60-21 win at home over Granger. “We played really well, and did great on defense,” said Bradley Dickerson, Thorndale High School girl’s head basketball coach. “We also created a lot of turnovers that ended in points for us.

Mitchell Twins are back at it

Area basketball teams play during holiday

The Rockdale Tigers won third place with a 4-2 record at the Buffalo Tournament this past weekend. The blue-and-gold lost their first game to Georgetown’s Gateway College Prep 57-45 after being outscored 15-2 in the final quarter.
