Scholarship golf tourney Saturday

MILANO NEWS The annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament will be held Saturday, April 21, at the Rockdale Country Club. Cost is $75 per player and is a four-person scramble event. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Kay set to honor Applegate

The Kay Theatre Foundation will host a celebration honoring the late Leona Applegate, and other founding supporters, at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29. Open to the public, the afternoon will include a reception with light refreshments and a movie.

Think pink

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and the pink flamingos are out again in Rockdale. The seven-foot-tall eye catchers are placed in yards as a fund-raiser for Milam County Child Protective Services and stay in yards until a donation enables them to “take wing” and move to another location.

‘Home stretch’ time; summer school coming

RISD REPORT Rockdale ISD campuses are in their last six weeks of school, and there are plenty of activities that occur at the end of every school year. However, on May 24, senior graduation day, our schools don’t completely close their doors until August.
