There are thirty new positive cases to report:   11 new PCR cases and 19 antigen (probable) cases bringing the total cases to another record of 142 active cases in Milam County.

Friday there were 29 individuals in Buckholts tested with 6 positive results.  In the past 19 days of testing, we have tested 730 individuals in Milam County with 193 positive results with a positivity rate of 26%.

On Monday, December 14, 2020 we will test in Rockdale at the former Rockdale Hospital.  If you are a Milam County resident with COVID symptoms we are happy to provide a free COVID antigen test.  Thanks to our great team of testers who are putting their lives on the line so we can provide testing!  A special thanks to your fine County Commissioners, the Mayors and City Council members of each city of the County for cooperating to pool their resources to provide this much needed testing program.

Milam County is prepared to administer the vaccine to any Milam County resident, free of charge, as soon as we get it.  The FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine over the weekend, but it is not in Milam County yet.

"The state will provide the vaccine to the county and we will administer the vaccine to any Milam County resident.  In fact, we have already partnered with Texas A&M Health Science to help administer the vaccine.   We want everyone to get vaccinated to stop the destruction this virus is causing," Judge Steve Young said in a news release.

Today's testing is in Rockdale at the former Rockdale Hospital.  Milam County residents with COVID symptoms can be tested for free.
