Last Wednesday (April 22) was the official date of Earth Day 2020 and, while the large observance planned for Rockdale did not materialize due to the COVID-19 situation, several “quarantine teams” are undertaking projects throughout the spring and summer, according to Dave Melton, Earth Day committee chair. Gary and Annette Griesbach, on behalf of First Presbyterian Church planted three trees at the city library. From left are the Griesbachs and librarian Melanie Todd. Melton said two individuals donated funding for the project and the Linwood Acres Garden Club also made a donation. Trees were delivered from the Bloomers Garden Center in Elgin.
