Thorndale ag boosters to hold fish fry Sunday Thorndale 4-H and FFA ag boosters will hold a fish fry fundraiser to support both groups at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Thorndale VFD Recreation Hall.

The Gause Community Improvement Program has canceled their annual barbecue fundraiser because of the coronavirus. Looks as if “corona” is ruling our lives. Maybe we will have an early freeze that is strong enough to kill all germs, but not knock off the electricity!

33 persons named by grand jurors in August session

CAMERON—Thirty-three persons were indicted on 41 counts Thursday in the August session of the Milam County Grand Jury as follows, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey: • Roman Manuel Ramos, 27, Rockdale, evading arrest with motor vehicle. • Russell Alan Kelley, 45, Rockdale, tampering with evidence.

Brookshire bucks

Brookshire Bros. has donated $3,850 to the Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry. The donation was part of the company’s Together We Can Do More program in which Brookshire Bros. matched contributions made by customers.

FOUR NEW CASES, FOUR DISCHARGED

From County Judge Steve Young Tuesday evening: We have four new confirmed cases of the virus to report, but we discharged four individuals as well, keeping the active case count the same at fifteen.

SEVEN NEW COVID-19 CASES

From County Judge Steve Young Monday night: We have seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases to report.  Some of these could be late weekend reports, but we are not sure.  We did discharge 23 active cases today, which brings us to 15 active cases.
