If you sustained damage from snow and ice during the winter storms and you have insurance, contact your insurance company and then FEMA. Your insurance claim information is needed to determine eligibility for federal assistance. FEMA can provide assistance for items not covered by insurance for homeowners and renters. The work on the buildings in the 200 block of East Cameron Avenue is completed. The buildings were painted two colors to emphasize the two buildings, and had wood and stucco work done. Members of the Rockdale Downtown Association and the Rockdale Municipal Development District were on hand Thursday to congratulate the building owner Keith Hagler and the men from Friendship Painting who did the work. Left photo: Workers fix up the buildings to brighten up the downtown area of Rockdale. Right photo: MDD President Michell Larkin and RDA member Gary Griesbach are seated in front of the refurbished buildings and behind them (L-R) are Kara Clore, RDA president; Hagler; and Rafael Lara and Francisco Ramirez, both of Friendship Painting; and Dan Ratliff of Rainbow Courts. The building upgrade was coordinated by the RDA and Hagler who received a facade grant from the MDD for sprucing up the downtown structures.
