Towery

Funeral services for Anna Lou Towery, 76 of Waco, formerly of Rockdale and Thorn-dale, are set for 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale with Gary Jackson and Allen Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Salty Cemetery near Thorndale.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Towery died Sunday, March 3, at her home in Waco.

She was born Oct. 26, 1942, in the Gay Hill community in Milam County to George Henry and Margaret Aline (Edelmon) Stephens.

Mrs. Towery attended Rock-dale High School.

On April 9, 1960, she married Tregg Towery at Murray Street Church of Christ in Rock-dale. They moved to Waco in 1968.

Mrs. Towery got a job renting houses.

She served on the PTA Board. She later held an officer position after joining the American Business Women of America (ABWA).

Mrs. Towery worked for another renting agency until her accident on Jan. 9, 2001. They later joined a couple of RV Good Sam’s Clubs and enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed cooking.

Mrs. Towery was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Betty Holton and Gloria Ann Heintze; also, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband, Tregg Towery; two sons, Trent Towery, John Timothy Towery and wife Candice; three daughters, Tammy Dulock and husband Gaylon, Tracy Tynes and husband Phillip, Teri Pharr and husband Jim; and 14 grandchildren, Troy Terry, Travis Terry, Tyler Tynes, Joshua Tynes, Kelsey Pharr, Kelston Pharr, Kaedyn Pharr, Lorin Reyna, Madison Childs, John Tregg Towery II, Katie Hooper, Michael Hooper, Johnathon Thomas, Shannon Dulock; also, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her black furball, Princess.
