Zenaida (Celia) Ochoa Hernandez, 88, of Thornd a l e d i e d M o n d a y , Feb. 1, 2021, at Scott & White Hospital.

F u n e r a l services were held Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor. Burial followed at Thorndale City Cemetery in Thorndale.

Mrs. Hernandez was born in Casita Ranch on Jan. 10, 1933, to Gregorio and Eduvijes Ochoa. She lived most of her life in Thorndale surrounded by her family.

She enjoyed quilting, cooking and tending to her yard and plants. She was always proud of her family’s accomplishments and she would keep newspaper clippings, trophies, awards and rings. God truly blessed us with a beautiful loving soul.

Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Hernandez; a son, Joseph Paul Ochoa; her parents; three brothers, Edward Ochoa, Alfredo Ochoa and Elivorio Ochoa; and four sisters, Trinidad Garza, Reyes Moreno, Juanita Padilla and Oralia Ochoa.

Survivors include three daughters, Molly Dominguez (Lee), Rosie Bennight (Rick), Michele Frei (Scott); five sons, Lorenzo Hernandez Jr. (Vicky), Hector Hernandez (Diane), Rollie Hernandez (Diane), Danny Hernandez (Brenda), Benny Hernandez (Elvy); a daughter-in-law Cindy Ochoa; and a special family friend/ honorary son, Victor Bentura; also, 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were grandchildren Ray Ochoa, Sammy Ochoa, Blayne Hernandez, Taran Hernandez, Anthony Dominguez, Steven Ayala, Jett Frei and Victor Bentura.

Honorary pallbearers were all grand and great-grandchildren.
