Memorial services for Robert Lee Dixon, 67, of Rockdale are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel in Rock-dale. Family friend Jackie Nance Corkman will officiate.

Mr. Dixon died Saturday, July 28, at his home in Rockdale, after his fight with cancer.

He was born April 16, 1951, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Ruby Lee Dixon.

He graduated from Gentry High School in Mississippi.

Mr. Dixon served in the U.S. Army from February 1971 to November 1972.

On Nov. 8, 1983, he married Genell Wells in Cameron and they made their home in Rockdale.

Mr. Dixon worked as a utility specialist at Alcoa in Rockdale.

He attended Rising Star Baptist Church in Rockdale.

Mr. Dixon was a member of the Steelworkers Union and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Leigh Dixon, on Sept. 25, 2017; his mother, Ruby Lee Dixon; and his mother-in-law, Ella Brown.

Survivors are his wife, Genell Dixon of Rockdale; two sons, Robert Lee Dixon Jr. of Pflugerville, Terral Dixon and wife Cinda of Rockdale; three daughters, La Toya Wells of Hutto, Pamela Wells Ogwu and husband Daniel of Steiner Ranch, and Jaleesa Dixon of Pflugerville; two sisters, Victoria Lee Dixon of Moorhead, Mississippi, and Gloria Dixon of Alabama; and 10 grandchildren, Iva Bonner III, Chris Johnson, Jahia Bell, Rhasha Bell, Kywn Bell, Michael Balaco, Messhia Balaco, Jazzy Dixon, Mason Dixon and Loyna Dixon.
