Wayne E. Jones, 66 of Austin died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Dell Seton Medical Center at UT in Austin.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Philemon Brown, Pastor Willie Phillips and Pastor Charles Embra officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mr. Jones was born July 27, 1955, in Cameron to Ollie and Helen Marie (White) Jones.

He attended Rockdale ISD and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Jones lived the past 10 years in Austin and was a retired laborer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Helen Jones; and sisters, Mary Louise Jones and Regina Mayfield.

Surviving are his daughters, Enjoli Jones of Taylor, Tersmia Jones of Houston; a stepdaughter, Luciana McDade of Taylor; his brothers, Carl Jones, Darryl Jones, Calvin Jones and wife Lanna; his sisters, Ivy Jones, Vickie Jones, Kathleen Jones, Veronica Jones Cremption and Janice Jones; six grandchildren, Javon Rubin, Raylin Demeritt, Timothy, Michelle, Ariona and Rebecca McCray; his aunts, Carolyn Cooper and husband Donald, Sally White of Rockdale, Ethel Mae Washington of Hutto, Mary Marie Brown of Houston, Lillian Hollis and Merlene Lazard of Houston; and an uncle, Roy Ross of Houston; also, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
