Massengale
Diana Brewer Massengale, known lovingly by her grandchildren as “Ahma,” left this earth to her home in the Lord’s Kingdom on June 4, 2026, at her home in Lexington. She was 80 years young.
Born on Oct. 25, 1945, in Cameron to the late Woodrow and Sue Marie Brewer, Diana lived a life rich in creativity, devotion and quiet grace.
Diana grew up in the Lexington area, where she developed the core values that built the solid foundation of who she was and what she stood for.
She was preceded in passing by her parents and sister, Patricia Retzlaff.
She enjoyed growing up and creating adventures with her brothers, Willis Brewer (wife Jeanine) and Ronny Brewer (wife Dana).
As life came, these adventures in life never ceased with them throughout their adult years. They continued to enjoy living their lives full of laughs, built their houses close to each other and traveled often together throughout their entire lives.
Diana married Benny Massengale on Sept. 15, 1973. In the 53 years they shared, they were parents to four children, Ronna Davis, Brenda Brown (husband David), Randy Massengale (wife Donna) and Jana Massengale. They share five grandchildren, Michael Davis (wife Jessica), Kyle Brown (wife Mandy), Jarrod Ryan (wife Jennifer), Ashley Lauderdale, and Dylan Jones, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson, along with their nieces and nephews.
They fondly cherished quality time spent with loved ones.
She worked for 22 years at Alcoa in Rockdale, where she also met her husband.
After retirement she decided to open a quilting business. The struggles of owning a business never killed her passion to pursue her favorite hobby.
She was also known for her exquisite paintings, they are quite captivating to view with their fine details and true vision of what she felt when you got lost in them.
Her devotion to Christ was exemplified in everything she did. She was humbly grateful for life and being God’s daughter. She loved to joyfully worship the Lord! Many mornings she was found playing the piano in church or quite often casually playing in her home.
She had an unconditional love for animals. She could never turn away an animal in need and if by the rare chance she didn’t have an animal in her home, she was on a mission to the animal shelter to give one a home.
She will immensely be missed for the remainder of the lives who loved her dearly, but through Christ, we will be united with her once again. John 14:6, Philippians 3:8, Ephesians 3:19, Colossians 3:17, Galatians 1:3-5, James 2:24, 1Peter 1:2.
Funeral services will be held at Phillips & Luckey in Rockdale, beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Little River Baptist Cemetery in the Maysfield/ Jones Prairie area. Address for cemetery is 4304 FM 979, Cameron.
