I’ve got two easy breakfast dishes for you this week. One sweet and one savory.
I got to be “known” for these two breakfast treats when I worked at The Greensheet newspaper in Houston for 14 years.
The first recipe resulted in several marriage proposals.

Imight like New Year’s Day as much as any holiday. A day off is always nice, plus having time to hang out on the couch and reflect on the year that has just passed always blesses my socks off.

Dear editor,
As former Rockdalians, Anne and I would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the great turnout on Dec. 12 for my book signing of “Still Crazy, The Adventure of a Lifetime,” at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.
FALLING FAR FROM THE TREE
We had everyone in the family home for the holidays this year. Sure was nice to have the whole family there. We had a very nice time and ate lots of good food. That said, I am not sad that the holidays are over.

The ACE iTigers Programs continue to play an important role in supporting our students on all campuses in the Rockdale Independent School District.
This week iTigers coordinator at Rockdale Junior High School, Mrs. Leesa Perez, has information regarding the upcoming spring semester.
100 YEARS AGO....
In a bizarre lawsuit, City Tax Assessor-Collector J. F. McCalla sued the city, claiming he was owed for assessing Rockdale school taxes. The city and schools operated under the same government.
