Ihad a heart attack back in February. We eat healthy at our house (besides the occasional Sonic or Dairy Queen meal) and I run three miles every day so you would not think I would be a candidate for a heart explosion. The doctor tells me it’s bad genetics.

No one doubts the importance of college football in the state of Texas. Not only is it important to fans all over the state and beyond, but big-time college football raises money to help support other sports that would be less viable without the funds football brings in.
This year’s RISD Veterans Day program was the best one yet and, as usual, I got a little tearyeyed a few times. Those elementary kids singing “Grand Old Flag” got me right in the “feels.” They are on the front page this week as well as the veterans themselves who were recognized during the ceremony.

The City Pantitorium, owned and operated by W.B. Talley, was gutted by fire, the blaze starting from an overheated stove in the drying room at the rear of the establishment. Due to the inflammable nature of the business the flames were beyond control before Mr.
This week has been and will be a busy week. Sunday, we saw the dedication of Worley Bridge as a State Historical Landmark. Worley Bridge was built between 1911 and 1913 and is on CR 428 off of FM 908 in Apache Pass. It’s on land donated by the Worley family, thus the name.
