Melody Makers perform for Matinee Musical Club

Matinee Musical Club held its March meeting at the First Presbyterian Church Rockdale with Joyce Ford as hostess. The Junior Club Showcase by the Keyboard Melody Makers performed for us before the business meeting. Dixie Whitmore’s Keyboard Melody Makers performed their annual recital for the club.

American Veterans Traveling Tribute hosted by The Traveling Vietnam Wall and The Cost of Freedom Tribute will be held this weekend, March 16-18 in Cameron at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation, 2202 N. Travis Ave.

Rockdale MDD receives ‘Excellence’ award in S.A.

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) announced the recipients of its annual Economic Excellence Recognition program for 2023. The awards were presented on Friday, February 23 during the TEDC’s 2024 Winter Conference in San Antonio.

Celebrating 174 years

A marker ceremony was held Sunday at Gause Baptist Church with the Milam County Historical Commission dedicating the historical marker awarded by the Texas Historical Commission. Rev. Ryan Karl is the pastor of the congregation that was established in 1877.

POSGCD to hold EarthKind gardening classes March 22

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District will hold an Earth-Kind workshop aimed at promoting sustainable gardening practices to local residents on Friday, March 22 at the POSGCD office in Milano from 1 to 3 p.m.
