Rockdale Chamber of Commerce’s Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on March 29 at Fair Park starting at 10 a.m. As in past years, the kids will line up and a countdown will begin for them to find all the eggs they can.

The annual Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet is coming up on April 25 at the New Salem Clubhouse in Fair Park starting at 6:30 p.m. with happy hour starting at 6 p.m.

Rockdale’s favorite historian, Dr. Lucile Estell, celebrated her 94th birthday on Sunday afternoon at Rockdale Estates and Rehabilitation with the Thursday Reading Club sponsoring.

A fundraiser benefiting several youth sports organizations will be held at East Bell Taphouse on Saturday, March 23 at 3 p.m. The beneficiaries are the Girls Softball League, Soccer Association, Baseball Association, Football and Cheer and Wake Aquatics.

Ilove how the daytime temperatures are warming up, but the nights are still a little chilly for my liking. Here are some pork loin recipes to warm you up. We have pork loin pretty often. Dad likes to grill them. This first recipe is for the small pork loins, not the huge ones.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Christina Bingham, 50, New Mexico, was arrested on March 4 for possession of a controlled substance (4 to 200 grams) and possession of a controlled substance (4 to 400 grams).

Dr. John Mike and Mrs. Jeanie Weed gifted the American Legion Dr. Weed's grandfather’s WWI uniform along with paperwork from his unit and several other hats he wore. Dr. Weed's grandfather, John M. Weed I, was Commander of the American Legion for many years.
