Eastside City Council member David Melton held “An Eastside Conversation” to talk about issues and answer questions from interested people in Rockdale last Thursday night at The Office Steakhouse. About 50 people showed up including city and county officials.

Stewart benefit set for Sunday at Rockdale KC Hall

The Doug Stewart Benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10. There will be food, auction items, a corn hole tournament, and lots of fun. The benefit will be held at the Rockdale KC Hall, 655 US Hwy. 79.

Soup suppers will commence during Lent on each Wednesday. Delicious soups and desserts will be served at 6 p.m. followed by evening prayer, drama “Pilate’s Investigation,” and a study conducted by Pastor Welton. All are welcome.

It is interesting to me that in the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus, for the very first time, makes his will known, that he finds resistance. Jesus came to be baptized by John, but “John would have prevented him.” It is here that Jesus speaks for the first time in the New Testament: “Let it be so now.
