Speaker topics announced for GW summit

The annual Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Caldwell Civic Center. The summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided.

O.J. Thomas 58th reunion August 12 The O.J. Thomas Alumni Community Resource Center will hold their 58th annual homecoming on Saturday, Aug. 12, with a tailgate party from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a barbecue lunch at noon. A dance will be held in the cafeteria from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. featuring Joe Tex II.

Countywide meeting to help Yates set for July 16

There will be a countywide community meeting at 2:30 p.m. July 16 at the Cameron Fire Station to organize plans to help Diane Yates rebuild her home after she encountered an unscrupulous contractor. Please go and find out how you can help. The world needs more kindness.

Rockdale Police Officers made six felony arrests dur ing the past week including: • Jennifer Hamilton, 39, Rockdale, was arrested on Tuesday by Ofc. Wachtel for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) in a drug free zone. • Ronald Batiste, 58, Dime Box, was arrested Tuesday by Ofc.
