Updated schedule for homecoming

The Rockdale Homecoming Association is busy finalizing plans for the annual citywide Homecoming to be held Sunday, June 11 at the Patterson Civic Center. The honored business is McVoy Grocery & Feed Store. If you are an early bird, doors will open at 9 a.m. for coffee, donuts and conversation.

Law enforcement increasing patrol for summer holidays

The Milam County Sheriff ’s Office and law enforcement officers across Texas will increase patrol for the Click It or Ticket campaign. This campaign reminds Texans to buckle up day and night, front seat or back, every time they get in a vehicle.

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Police arrest five on felony warrants during past week

Rockdale Police Officers made five felony arrests dur ing the past week including: • Kiki Ali Cashaw, 38, Rockdale, was arrested on Tuesday by Ofc. Lentz for two counts of possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram), possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • FM 1786 on Wednesday for an 18-wheeler that rolled over. • 2204 Murray for a structure fire on Thursday. Milano VFD Responded to: • South TX 36 for an 18-wheeler vs. train overpass on Tuesday. • Milano High School in reference to a box fan smoking on Saturday.

Class of ’23 ready to forge their path

The Milano Class of 2023 will graduate Friday at 7 p.m. All of the seniors are ready to forge their own path into the world. Pray for them to be successful. RETIREMENT— I am so sad to announce that one of the greatest math teachers ever is retiring.

It’s a beautiful Monday morning. It won’t be long before it will be hot and no breeze. That’s when some of us can sit in the house and watch TV and do word search puzzles or both. For me that is my yearly schedule. The word for that is “retirement.
