The Appelt Family will be celebrating its 59th reunion on Sunday, June 4, at Appelt’s Hill Hall in Hallettsville. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch of stew, sausage and assorted side dishes will be served at noon. Canned and bottled cold drinks will also be provided.

Cowboy Church VBS to be held June 6-9 Milam County Cowboy Church will hold Vacation Bible School June 6-9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be “The Armor of God.” Bible school is free and includes dinner each night and a T-shirt. Register by May 21 at milamcountycowboychurch. org.

Rockdale ISD Education Foundation put its money where its mouth was on Thursday by handing out $13,000 in grants to RISD educators.

Fatality on US 77

Texas DPS responded to a report of a major crash near Rockdale on US 77 at 5:30 p.m. May 4. A 2019 Dodge Ram pickup, operated by a 63-yearold female from Ennis, was traveling northbound on US 77 approaching the intersection of FM 908.
