Kyle’s Kitchen Former Rockdalians Karen and Terry Stuller were in town briefly last week and Mom and Dad hosted a brunch for them. The food was good, and I had a request for the recipes made that day. The brunch lasted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

FFA FBM team competes at state

The FFA Farm Business Management Team recently competed at the state competition in Huntsville. Milano students did incredibly well. ELECTION— The School Board election is this Saturday. Voting will be at the Milano VFD. Go vote! RAIN— I hope you have benefited from all the rain.

Minerva Cemetery Assn. work day May 6 The Miner va Cemetery Association will have a work session on May 6 from 9 a.m. to noon. The day will consist of leveling headstones, filling in sunken areas and limb trimming.

Abeautiful sun-shining Monday morning and a breeze blowing. July will be here before we know it and it will just be hot. We were invited to the Coats’ home Sunday evening and had a very enjoyable time with their family, as we always do. Johnny Fisher is in rehab in Bryan.

The 70th annual Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held on Thursday night at the New Salem Clubhouse at Fair Park. This year’s theme was Small Town America and featured both awards and a catered barbeque meal from Thorndale Meat Market.

Rockdale Elementary Kindergarten classes planted an oak tree at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Rockdale on Friday, April 28, in honor of Earth Day. Students and teachers spent the day planting the tree, picking up litter and enjoying the beautiful park.
