The MARC consumers enjoyed some winged special guests last Tuesday provided by All Things Wi ld f rom Georgetown. The special guest at left was a female Barred Owl named Artemis, who was a little reluctant to get out of her cage.

Chamber banquet a big hit Thursday

The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce’s 70th annua l banquet on Thursday night drew a big crowd and new awa rd winners were announc ed towa rd t he end of the evening. Citizen of the Year was won by David Melton. Organization of the Year was the Rockdale Rotary Club. Business of the Year was RIOT.

National Music Week celebrating 100 years

The Matinee Musical Club hosted its District 4 annual meeting Saturday, April 22 in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church with district club members from Waco Euterpean Club and the Navasota Music Study Club joining. There were 19 participants in attendance.

Class of 1966 reunion held Saturday

Saturday April 29 the Rockdale High School Class of 1966 held a reunion at the Rockdale Country Club. There were 20 classmates who attended and five guests.

Five felony arrests, one accident reported over past seven days

Rockdale Police Officers made five felony arrests during the past week including: • Daniel Tovar, 40, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Wachtel for possession of a controlled substance (Less than 1 gram) and for possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).
